La Vendange Child Friendly Gites: Pool Area (home)

Our south-facing tiled swimming pool is 10mx5m. This pool is heated by 36m2 of roof-mounted solar panels. The northern half of the in-ground pool has a flat bottom with a constant depth of around 85cm with the southern half sloping down to a max depth of 2m.

Pumping the water through the solar panels helps to maintain a comfortable water temperature (usually between 24-32 degrees) from May through to mid September. The water temp. is generally about 6 degrees higher than that of unheated pools. With solar heating the water temp generally builds up through the day and we ask guests to roll back the themal cover in the evenings in order to minimize the temperature loss at night.

For younger children there is also a 5m2 splash pool which is 65cm deep and is partialy surrounded by a wooden deck with tables and sunbeds.

Child Friendly Pool Facilities

The pool area is very secure, fully enclosed and certified to the 2005 European safety standards. The area is entered by a self-closing childproof gate (magnalatch system) and the pool is protected by a movement detection alarm.

The main lawn/playground and all the cottages are separated from the pool area by two gates and the car park. See the site plan for details on the exact layout of the property

There is also a small baby pool on the deck so our very youngest guests don't miss out on the fun !.

A shade tent, tables, chairs, plenty of sunloungers, outdoor games and a small sandpit for toddlers are all supplied.
