Outdoor activities

For those guests who are interested in a more active holiday there is lots to do.

Cycle around the local area. The gently rolling hills make for perfect family cycling country. There are lots of interesting villages to explore: at least 10 within a half days leisurley ride from the property.

In July the route of the Tour de France often passes within a couple of km of the property.

Cycling on the Isle de Ré is very poular (see photos right), as there are dozens of km of dedicatd cycle paths on very flat ground with lots to see and do.

*Punt along the leafy canals of the Marais Poitevan around Coulon. Closer to the coast explore the "dry" marshes with their open landscape and wonderful aquatic and bird life

*For hikers there are regstered walks ("randonees") around many of the villages. The maps are usually marked up on a wall near the "Marie".
